Day 1 - Saturday 12 December
After an overnight flight we arrived in Johannesburg this morning...
Hey, I’m Rachael!
I volunteered to write a blog for you guys, from here in South Africa ☺
We travelled over-night, so this morning I was still on a plane from Zurich to Johannesburg- a gruelling 10 hour journey. After landing at 10:30am, we piled onto the mini-bus and sped off to our hotel, I didn’t know what to expect having never been to South Africa, and was pleasantly surprised. The hotel is very grand and elegant with great food.

We freshened up and changed out of our travelling clothes, then went to the Museum of Apartheid. The history of South Africa, however sick and twisted, is fascinating. The segregation of races and nationalities is utterly barbaric.
In the museum, there is a whole section dedicated to the legend that is Nelson Mandela. He was a unique, strong and just man. He made history, for all the right reasons.
Love Rachael xo
Hey I’m Kym ☺
I jut wanted to tell you how much I have enjoyed my first day in South Africa. I have learnt a lot about people and the country. I met some amazing people gave use some advise about always staying positive which was really nice for him to say. Our guest house was really beautiful. We went to a Museum of Aparthide which was really interesting and fun. Some of the things I discovered were shocking. I have learnt a lot today. But I am really tired from the long flight, so I will speak again soon.
Kym ☺
