University student seeks young people’s help for Red Cross fundraising project
A final-year student at the University of Manchester is looking for young people's help with a fundraising project for the Red Cross.
Reanna Vernon is managing a project called Action Code Red on behalf of the British Red Cross, which aims to raise as much money as possible for the charity by 19 December, as part of her degree in Community and Youth Work.
She is looking for young people to get involved in fundraising efforts through bag packaging for local supermarkets, street collecting, cake sales, running “The Apprentice”-style challenges or any other fundraising ideas they may want to participate in. She feels that young people will be empowered by the skills they can gain from taking part, and any students who are doing an ASDAN award as part of their curriculum will also benefit.
Reanna has experience in youth work and is able to work alongside young people taking part to ensure they are educated, empowered and enjoy themselves whilst raising money for a good cause.
If your Young Co-operative would like to get involved as part of its activities, you can discuss the project further and find out how to get involved by emailing Reanna at Reanna_v@hotmail.co.uk.
