Fairtrade Bazaar News Update!!
Our Fairtrade Bazaar has been pressed into action a lot recently. Firstly, there was Faritrade Fortnight, then the M Factor and now there is the Music Evening. It hasn't all been smooth selling over the last month.
Our Fairtrade Bazaar has been pressed into action a lot recently. Firstly, there was Faritrade Fortnight, then the M Factor and now there is the Music Evening. It hasn't all been smooth selling over the last month. We have had lots of trouble with our supplier, a big internet based supplier of all things ethical. After an untimely stock take (the middle of FT Fortnight!!) and then a lack of supplies we have decided to switch our supplier.
After searching far and wide we have found an excellent new supplier in the east of the city which is also a workers co-operative! Greencity Wholefoods have been trading since 1978. All of their members have a say in running the business.
It is their policy to promote better alternatives in terms of health and diet also through the food chain i.e. foods committed to getting a fair deal for the people who produce the food we sell and has a policy of boycotting goods from these countries whose people have requested such international action.
We are proud to work with them and hope that our Fairtrade Bazaar will continue to go from strength to strength, or at the very least keep selling Ubuntu Cola!!
